The Huracán Sterrato looked like a mistake.
Or maybe just a gimmick.
A supercar? On rally tires?
Who asked for that.
But then it drove.
And surprisingly, it was actually one of the best cars Lamborghini has made in years. People liked it. Maybe too much.
Now the brand won’t stop talking about it.
Speaking at this year’s Goodwood Festival, Federico Foschini—Lamborghini’s chief marketing and sales guy—said they aren’t letting go of the concept.
Not yet.
The SUV already has dirt on it
The talk centered on the new Urus SE Performante. It made its debut at Goodwood, looking mean, built for streets and speed.
But wait.
There is a ‘Rally’ mode.
Foschini said owners actually use these beasts off-pavement. Really.
“We have customers who live in the country. We have customers who use the car to tow a trailer with horses.”
It’s not just road noise and lap times.
There is demand. Real demand.
So does the Urus get the Sterrato badge next?
He won’t promise it.
He will say the gap isn’t big.
The Urus is already close.
Just different tires. A different setup. The platform handles it easily.
The trick is the surprise
Lamborghini says “unexpected” is a brand value.
That’s a corporate way of saying: confuse us pleasantly.
The Sterrato did that.
Another one?
Maybe.
But priorities are messy right now. Foschini didn’t drop a date or a spec sheet.
He just said they keep it in their heads.
Background noise. Waiting for the right moment.
Will it be the new V8? A rougher SUV?
Hard to say.
What matters is that Lamborghini still remembers how to leave the pavement.
And that is kind of exciting.
