Jeep Avenger Mid-Cycle Refresh Confirmed for 2027

21

Jeep is preparing a refresh for its smallest SUV, the Avenger, just a few years after its 2023 debut. The updated model is slated for release in early 2027, and initial testing suggests the changes will be subtle rather than radical. The move comes as automakers increasingly focus on keeping models current with shorter refresh cycles.

Exterior Updates

Prototype vehicles spotted in cold-weather testing reveal a camouflaged design, though key elements remain familiar. The split LED headlights and cooling intakes appear unchanged, while fog lights have been slightly repositioned. The overall sculpted profile will likely be retained, with minor tweaks to plastic cladding and new alloy wheel designs.

The rear of the test vehicle shows no significant panel redesigns at this stage, but that could change as development progresses. A single tailpipe indicates the presence of the 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, available in non-electrified or mild-hybrid configurations.

Interior Enhancements

Spy photographers have caught glimpses of the interior, which remains heavily concealed. The free-standing infotainment display and digital instrument cluster are still present, though covered. This suggests updates to the cabin, potentially including softer materials on touchpoints and the latest connectivity and safety features from Stellantis.

Powertrain and Platform

The Avenger will likely continue offering internal combustion, mild-hybrid, and fully electric powertrain options. The current all-wheel-drive 4xe mild-hybrid trim should remain available. The SUV rides on Stellantis’s CMP/eCMP platform, shared with a wide range of other vehicles including the Alfa Romeo Junior, Fiat 600, Lancia Ypsilon, Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208 and 2008, and DS3.

The shared platform means many components will remain consistent across these models, maximizing efficiency for Stellantis.

The refresh isn’t expected to be a major overhaul, leveraging the existing architecture and components to streamline development and costs.

Further spy shots are expected as testing continues, which may reveal more details on the final design. The Jeep Avenger refresh will likely focus on refinement rather than revolution, keeping the model competitive in the compact SUV segment.
