Great Wall Motors (GWM) has launched its updated 2026 Cannon pickup series at the Guangzhou International Auto Show, offering a wide range of configurations from basic commercial models to high-end off-road variants. Starting at approximately $14,100, the new lineup prioritizes versatility, safety, and connectivity, while also capitalizing on aggressive sales incentives.
Commercial Cannon: Rugged Utility for Work
The 2026 Commercial Cannon, priced between $14,100 and $20,150, is built for heavy-duty use. GWM has reinforced the chassis with a high-strength ladder frame and a robust 3+2 steel leaf spring suspension to maximize load capacity. The diesel engines – either a 2.4T or 2.0T paired with 9 or 8-speed automatics – deliver reliable power. Safety features have also been upgraded, including high-strength side beams, a cage-type body structure, and automatic emergency fuel shut-off.
The Commercial Cannon’s enhancements aren’t just about raw strength; lighting and tyre upgrades (255/65 R18) improve visibility and stability. GWM also offers incentives: up to $1,870 in cash bonuses, trade-in credits, and loyalty rewards.
Passenger Cannon: Tech-Infused Comfort
The Passenger Cannon, ranging from $17,880 to $23,820, shifts focus to comfort and technology. It features a 2.4T engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission and a cutting-edge “Coffee OS 3” infotainment system. This system offers seamless smartphone integration via Huawei HiCar, Apple CarPlay, and other protocols, with voice recognition responding in under 0.25 seconds.
Inside, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a massive 14.6-inch touchscreen display (with anti-glare coating) dominate the cabin. The system runs on 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Safety features include a 360-degree camera and a “transparent chassis” view for off-road awareness. Buyers can also claim up to $1,870 in incentives.
Off-Road Cannon: Extreme Capability
The top-tier Off-Road Cannon, priced between $25,380 and $26,630, is designed for serious terrain. Powered by a 2.4-liter diesel engine producing 480 Nm of torque, it leverages BorgWarner’s 4A+MLOCK four-wheel-drive system and three mechanical differential locks. A factory-installed 9,500-pound wireless winch enhances recovery options.
The Off-Road Cannon includes specialized driving modes (snow, mud, sand, rock, crawl) and optional K-MAN bumpers and BFGoodrich tires. GWM incentivizes sales with up to $2,820 in bonuses and credits.
The 2026 Cannon lineup demonstrates GWM’s commitment to offering a versatile range of pickups at competitive prices. The combination of robust engineering, modern technology, and aggressive incentives positions GWM as a major player in the global truck market.
