Avatr, a joint venture between CATL, Changan, and Huawei, has unveiled a refreshed version of its Avatr 12 electric coupe SUV. Design Evolution: Subtle Refinements, Major Tech Boost
The Avatr 12’s exterior maintains the sleek, futuristic aesthetic of its predecessor. The most visible changes are focused on enhancing the vehicle’s sensor suite. The front end now integrates LED lighting within the bumper, and critically, features a top-mounted LiDAR system leveraging Huawei’s latest technology. Two additional LiDAR units are embedded in the front fenders, and the door handles have been updated to a semi-hidden design for improved aerodynamics and a cleaner look. Customers can select between 20-inch and 21-inch wheel options.
The vehicle’s dimensions remain largely unchanged: it measures 5.02 meters (16.5 feet) in length, 1.99 meters (6.5 feet) in width, and stands 1.47 meters (4.8 feet) tall with a 3.02-meter (9.9 feet) wheelbase. The rear maintains its distinctive enclosed window design, paired with a retractable spoiler and a full-width taillight bar. An optional sport package adds a body-colored rear bumper and diffuser for a more aggressive stance.

The new Avatr 12 will be available with three distinct electric drive configurations. The most powerful configuration – the tri-motor AWD setup – delivers a staggering 955 hp.
